2024 has been an evolutionary year for us at Irresistible Studios. After 16 years, we’ve left our cosy office in Brick Lane and moved onto pastures new; a beautiful five-story town house in Clerkenwell Green. Moving from a smaller space to a (quite a bit!) bigger one has given us space to welcome talented new people and three additional floors now entirely dedicated to post-production, each decked out with beautifully designed edit suites to bring our projects to life.
Our happy place has always been beautiful, big live-action films, with wicked VFX and animation. And we are so pleased to have welcomed our latest series of highly creative campaigns, with wraparound deliverables. Let us introduce you to a few stand-out moments…
Hellmann's
Up Your Game
First up, Hellmann’s ‘Up Your Game’. A European-wide campaign, which brought together the football frenzy and BBQ culture around the UEFA Euro 2024™. The full campaign starred football legends, Fedrico Chiesa, Jack Grealish, Joshua Kimmich, Petr Čech, Micah Richards, David Villa and renowned presenter, Laura Woods. We are footy mad at Irresistible (and yes, we take our Euros sweepstakes very seriously), so working with a bunch of sports people at the top of their game was a real dream. On set, we had our TVC director, our stills photographer and two Social-First directors all side by side, investing into every mouth-watering burger and morish mayo-laden dish of this campaign. We are so proud of Karl Fenton of our director collective, Octane, working to create the ‘Top Dishes’ series for Hellmann’s, a seamless and stunning series of BBQ meals, where the ingredient of mayo is of utmost importance.
Wrigley's Extra Refreshers
Your Mood Is In Your Mouth
Extra Refreshers ‘Your Mood is in Your Mouth’ was a stand-out spot for its juicy blend of VFX, animation and live action. From the moment the brief came through from T&Pm, we knew this would be a visual delight for the eyes. We collaborated with the perfect partnership of directing duo Stefano & Alejandra, their minds working as one to visualise the popping colour palette and quirky moments across the story, with Per Applegren bringing a fun, angular and stylish edge to the beautiful and bright stills.
Ladbrokes
1-2-Free
Ladbrokes '1-2-FREE’ was a big moment for Octane and our post, VFX supervisor and compositor, Peter Welton. They worked together to create a stylised CGI stadium, in the Ladbrokes brand palette. In this 3D environment, we see our footballers make epic tackles and Bellingham-style bicycle kicks.
These exciting projects had us firing on all cylinders. We are so pleased to see these campaigns continuing to ignite the collaboration between our specialist areas of live action with VFX and animation.
Kingsford
King of the Grill
Bringing our attention to the creative leaders of our projects, our wonderful directors. An exciting new development for our roster was signing Chip; who is known for his sports-focused and talent-led commercials, with a knack for really tickling the funny bone. Chip is rising in the scene of the sports commercial space (so watch out!) and we are really looking forward to developing his reel even further. We’ve collaborated with Chip on several projects before and during his recent signing, we can’t wait to see the incredible stuff we’ll create together in the years to come.
Endura
Shower
A freelance director we’ve long admired is Jonas McQuiggin, we got to work with the fella on ‘Aye Y'Can’ for Endura; a witty comedy campaign for a cycling brand with a sense of humour. Jonas really delved into the heart of the story for this spot: faltering motivation during imperfect (frankly, sh*t) weather. He built the narrative with uncomfortably long pauses, whilst driving impeccable performances from our cast. We got to work with cycling superstars, Charlotte Thompson, Mark Ducat, Johny Salido and Birgit Bless, who we somehow convinced to pop their heads out of boxes stuffed with packing peanuts, arriving *Santa-style* out of a chimney, sitting inside fridges and even standing in the shower fully clothed in cycling gear… All in the name of inspiration for our biking hobbyists to jump into action!
Rexona
"Not Done Yet" Ferran Torres - Spain Euros
We can’t stop (and literally won’t stop) working with amazing footballing talent, like Luis Diaz, Ferran Torres, Toni Kroos for Rexona’s iconic ‘Not Done Yet’ series, during the Euros. This was led by our rostered director, Chris Vickers who is shooting all over the globe and just going from strength to strength with his work.
Dove Men+Care
"Something Greater" Thierry Henry
A big moment was working with the great Thierry Henry for Dove Men, shot by our incredible rostered talent, Christopher Ranson who is just unparalleled in his brilliant directing style of getting into the heart of football fandom with a flair for talent interviews; always showing a side to the great players we don’t often get to experience.
Berghaus
Product Spotlight: Backpacks
We’ve been scaling the globe in 2024 with our directors, collaborating with our service partners in South Africa, Germany, Spain, Saudi Arabia and more. And sometimes we just like to keep it local to the UK, where we’ve shot many projects up and down the country this year (in all weather, we aren’t scared!).
Knorr
Mod The Veg
Now, everybody... over to our brilliant team to see what they have to say about 2024. Kicking off with the new addition on the editing team, Tom, who said that he “likes the variety of projects [he] works on, as every project is unique and requires a delicate craft, brought together with different skills and creative thinking”. And intentions from Niamh, a new member of the production team, who is looking forward to expanding her repertoire as a Producer, ready to dive into work that she finds “incredibly creatively rewarding”. Finally, let’s conclude the year with some wonderful words from our Head of Production, Harriet-Kate McKean:
“2024 has been a highly creative year for us, bringing with it an abundance of new connections which we can’t wait to strengthen in 2025. I’m so proud of how we’ve reached new creative heights as a team. VFX has been a huge focus for us and our expanding post department.
What has made 2024 so impactful, is that the team at Irresistible have worked incredibly hard. I’m proud of what we’ve created and am very excited going into 2025 with such a brilliant group of people”.
We depart 2024, feeling very proud of the year we’ve had. With a humongous thank you owed to our incredible clients and agencies who we’ve met for the first time in 2024, or, strengthened our ongoing relationship with you. We love your creativity, your passion and energy for the brands and contacts you look after, we relish the variety of projects you’ve brought to us and can’t wait to be with you every step of the way in 2025.
